Hey everyone, I've noticed some frustrating printer issues following the recent Windows updates over the weekend. Specifically, I'm dealing with problems like Microsoft Print to PDF not working, QuickBooks not printing (related to the Microsoft XPS Document Writer), and I'm getting an error that says, "Printer driver was not installed. The system cannot find the file specified." After some troubleshooting and digging, I managed to fix them by following an older KB article from about three years ago. I'm just curious if anyone else has run into similar issues lately, especially since all the affected machines are running Windows 11.

Yikes, that sounds frustrating! I did find a thread that seems relevant to your situation, but from what I read, it didn't help solve all the issues. You might want to check this link out just in case: [https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1l1tpuo/microsoft_print_to_pdf_missing/](https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/1l1tpuo/microsoft_print_to_pdf_missing/) but it sounds like you already tried troubleshooting.
Yeah, same here! That didn't help me either.
Just a heads up, since you're on Windows 11, you might need to manually add the XPS writer through the additional services because it isn't included by default. It could help with some of the issues you’re seeing.
Thanks for the tip! I did try to add the Microsoft XPS Document Writer, but I hit the 0x800f0922 error when I attempted it, which is what led me to the KB article I used.

That thread was similar for me too, but I couldn't get it to work either. Glad you found a solution with that KB article!
