Apple Cash can’t send or transfer money—is there an outage?

My Apple Cash balance is showing $300, but I can't use it. Transfers to my debit card or bank account fail with "Unable to connect to wallet services," and sending money to another person says the recipient can't receive Apple Cash right now. My region and iOS are up to date, and the debit card has worked before. The money was received this morning from someone who sends it to me regularly. Is this a widespread outage, and will pending or missing funds come back once the service is restored?

A few people have tried using an Apple Cash virtual card number or moving the funds through another payment app, but those workarounds aren’t reliable and may also fail during the outage. The safest option is probably to wait for Wallet services to recover and use another payment method for urgent purchases if possible.

Be careful trying payments repeatedly while the service is unstable. Some purchases that were declined at the register later appeared as pending, and balances temporarily looked incorrect. Keep receipts and screenshots, and check whether the transaction eventually reverses or the funds return before assuming the money is permanently gone.

The same thing happened to me: the payment was declined, but it later showed as pending. I had to pay with another card, so I’m waiting for the pending charge to drop off.

My balance also briefly showed zero after a failed payment. It seems many of these reports are tied to delayed processing during the outage.

Customer support has been telling people that something is down, but they don’t seem to have a restoration timeline. If the balance or a transaction looks wrong, document the amount and time, then contact support after services stabilize. A temporary outage shouldn’t normally erase the underlying balance, but pending card payments may take time to resolve.
