Apple Watch Bought Used Arrived With Activation Lock—What Can I Do?

I bought an Apple Watch Ultra 2 from an Amazon resale listing described as "Like New" for $249. The watch looks nearly perfect, but it is still linked to someone else's Apple account through Activation Lock. I confirmed it is not marked as lost, and the serial number is printed on the resale packaging. I have submitted Apple's Activation Lock removal request three times, including the invoice provided by Amazon, but each request was rejected. For the seller address, I entered Amazon in each field. Is there any additional documentation or a better way to submit the request? I would prefer not to return it because the price has since increased to around $500 and Amazon will not exchange it. I am not trying to bypass the lock—I only want to know whether Apple might accept more proof of purchase.

The invoice may show when you bought or received the watch, but Apple can compare that with the original setup date and ownership records. Adding the serial number could be worth trying if it is missing, but if Apple has already rejected the request, there probably is not another document Amazon can provide that will satisfy them. The safest option is to return it before the refund window closes.

You should return it for a refund. Apple generally needs proof from the original purchaser or an authorized retailer, and a resale invoice usually does not establish ownership because it does not match the device’s original activation history. Only the previous owner can normally remove the watch from their Apple account.
