Are there gaming PCs or laptops that work well with Linux out of the box?

I’m looking for a gaming desktop or laptop with good Linux support, especially for things like fans, power use, speakers, and other built-in hardware. What options are worth checking?

System76 and Tuxedo are two places to start since they sell systems with Linux already installed. I’d still check the exact model and configuration rather than treating the Linux install as a guarantee that every gaming feature will work smoothly.

For a desktop, an all-AMD build is a reasonable starting point, but it isn’t a magic compatibility guarantee. Motherboard-specific fan controls and Bluetooth hardware can still be awkward, so check support for the exact parts before buying.

Laptops are trickier because the GPU is only part of the picture. Look for information about the exact model’s fan controls, power management, webcam, and speakers. A machine can run games fine and still have annoying gaps in those everyday features.

Make a shortlist of the games you actually want to play, then check reports for those titles on the hardware you’re considering. Compatibility can vary between games, so “good for Linux gaming” is more useful when it’s tied to a specific model and game list.
