Are these B550 boards and this PSU okay for my build?

I’m choosing between the MSI B550M-A Pro and Gigabyte B550 MK, and considering an MSI PAG G750N power supply. I’m planning to use a Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 3070. Is micro-ATX a problem in an ATX case, and which parts make more sense?

Either motherboard should work with a Ryzen 5 5600 and RTX 3070, assuming the board’s BIOS supports the CPU. They’re both budget models, so compare the exact features and local prices rather than treating one size as automatically better. Check the number of M.2 slots, memory slots, rear ports, and expansion slots you’ll actually use.

The case is ATX, but I’m leaning toward the micro-ATX board. Will it look odd?

It will fit, but there’ll be more open space below the board than with a full-size ATX motherboard. That’s mostly a visual preference, not a compatibility issue.

Micro-ATX and ATX are form factors, not quality ratings. A micro-ATX board in an ATX case is a normal combination as long as the case supports it. ATX usually gives you more room for expansion cards, while micro-ATX can save money and space. For a typical one-GPU build, the smaller size may be all you need.

I’d be more careful about the PSU than the board name. A 750W unit is a reasonable capacity to consider for this CPU and graphics card, but wattage alone doesn’t tell you whether a particular model is good. Look up a reputable review of the exact PAG G750N model and check its protections, warranty, and performance. PSU recommendations can also vary by country and price.

So should I just pick whichever motherboard is cheaper?

That’s reasonable if both have the slots and connections you need, and their BIOS support is suitable. Don’t pay extra for ATX unless you’ll use the additional expansion space.

Compare the two boards’ specifications before deciding. One may offer more memory slots or storage connections, which can be handy later, but those extras only matter if you expect to use them. Also check that the exact model has the rear I/O you want. For a Ryzen 5 5600 and one RTX 3070, neither board’s form factor is a compatibility problem by itself.
