Hi everyone! I recently moved out of my parents' house, and I'm finding it tough to help them with their tech issues over the phone since they aren't very computer-savvy. I want to be able to remotely control their MacBook from my own Mac. Is there a simple app that I can use for this purpose? I'll handle the setup, but it needs to be easy for them to use since they might struggle with anything complicated. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Another great option is Splashtop. It allows unattended access, and you can set a password to keep things secure. This way, you can help them without needing their presence every time.
You can use the screen sharing feature in Apple’s Messages app. It’s pretty straightforward and allows you to see what they see, which can help a lot! You can check out this guide for setup: https://support.apple.com/guide/messages/share-screens-icht11883/mac.
You might want to check out Rustdesk. It’s open source and free to use, offering features similar to TeamViewer. It's great if you prefer something without commercial constraints.
I highly recommend TeamViewer. It's free for personal use, and you just need to install it on both your and your parents' machines. It provides a simple interface that makes it easy to control their Mac if they ever have an issue.
Have you tried Chrome Remote Desktop? It’s pretty user-friendly, and once they grant you access, you can take control easily. Just guide them through the initial setup.
