Can an Apple Store Complete an iPhone Battery Replacement at a Late Appointment?

I have a 7:10 PM Genius Bar appointment at an Apple Store in London to replace the battery in my iPhone 15 Pro Max. The store closes at 9:00 PM. Has anyone had a battery replacement scheduled that late? Were you able to collect the phone the same evening, or did the store keep it overnight for pickup the next day?

It mainly depends on how busy the repair queue is that evening. If they have several repairs ahead of yours, they may not finish before closing.

The timing varies from store to store, so the staff can give you the most accurate answer when you arrive. A late appointment is more likely to become an overnight repair if they’re busy.

They kept my phone overnight, but the repair was done properly and it was ready the next day. I wouldn’t count on getting it back the same evening.

Some battery replacements are surprisingly quick—people have had them done in around 15 to 30 minutes, or within a couple of hours. If the queue is short, you could potentially get it back before closing, but it isn’t guaranteed.

Mine was completed within a few hours. With a late appointment, though, they might keep the phone overnight. Battery availability can also make a difference, although they’ll usually have the part for a scheduled appointment.
