Hey everyone! I recently updated to iOS 26.1 and noticed that it seems like they're making Facial ID mandatory for unlocking my phone. I'm not a fan of this feature and really want to know if there's any way to opt-out of it. Has anyone figured out a solution?

You can navigate to Settings > Face ID & Passcode > Reset Face ID, but Iโ€™m not sure that will help if it wasn't enabled before. It might not show that option if you havenโ€™t used the feature previously.

Youโ€™ll still get prompted for your passcode sometimes, like when your face is covered or if the device has been restarted. So you aren't completely locked out.

You donโ€™t have to use Facial ID unless you've turned on Stolen Device Protection. Just curious, though, whatโ€™s the reason youโ€™d prefer not to use it?
