Can opening a message request on Instagram lead to hacking?

Hey everyone, I recently received a message request on Instagram from someone I know. Since we're not friends, it landed in the message requests folder and was blurred out. I initially thought it was safe since META usually blocks any media like that. However, I ended up unblurring the picture without really thinking about it, and I'm worried it might have compromised my Android phone. The image was work-related, but now I'm just unsure. I do have two-factor authentication enabled on my Instagram account, so I hope that helps. What do you all think?

Lol, you're good! Unless the message had a malware link, you're in the clear. Just keep being careful with those message requests!

Nah, you're probably fine. As long as you didn't download anything from that message, thereโ€™s not much risk. Just remember to be cautious about unknown messages in the future!

You should be okay! Just donโ€™t click on any links or download attachments from random messages. Keeping your 2FA is a smart move tooโ€”just a bit of extra security!
