Can't Record Videos After iOS 18 Update – Help!

Hey everyone! My iPhone just updated from iOS 16 to 18 automatically (even though I had the auto-update turned off) last night, and now I can't record any videos. The screen goes totally black when I try. However, my camera works fine for taking pictures and slow-motion videos, and even screen recording shows the camera is visible. It's just the video recording that's not working. Any advice?

You might want to back up your device and then try erasing it and setting it up again. Sometimes these software glitches can be fixed that way. But just a heads up, if it turns out to be a hardware issue, it could get pricey, especially if you're out of warranty.

CameraFan42: I'm confused about why it would be a hardware issue if you can still take pictures and record slow-motion videos. Also, when I screen record and then open the camera app, it works fine! I’ve just got two videos of the same thing, haha. By the way, I’m using an iPhone 13!
