I've been struggling to sign into my Apple account since March 7 because I'm getting an error message saying I've requested too many verification codes. I contacted Apple support, and they suggested waiting 24 hours before trying again. However, I was impatient and tried again after only 8 hours, which seemed to reset my cooldown. Now I'm wondering if I should just wait a couple of days for things to settle down, or should I give up and create a new account instead?

I'm not sure why you're asking what to do if you've already got guidance from support. They told you to wait 24 hours, right? Just stick to that and maybe add a couple more hours for good measure. Better safe than sorry!
It sounds like the best move is to actually wait the full 24 hours like they advised. Since you tried too soon, it might extend the cool-off period. Just take a break and give it the time it needs before trying again.
Seriously, you gotta wait it out. Trying after just 8 hours could just complicate things more. Give it the full time they said, maybe even a bit extra if you're worried it wasn't exactly 24 hours.
