Do I have to leave my MacBook Pro for battery repair at the Genius Bar?

I have a 2019 MacBook Pro that's showing a 'SERVICE RECOMMENDED' message for the battery. If I schedule an appointment at the Genius Bar, will I need to leave my Mac there, or can they fix it on the spot?
