I'm using a Samsung Galaxy phone running Android. I already uninstalled an app, such as Spotify, but I forgot to clear its cache and storage first. Does uninstalling automatically remove the app's cache, settings, and downloaded files, or could several gigabytes of data still be taking up space? I deleted only the app, not my account.

Some apps store downloads outside their private app folder, so uninstalling cannot always remove every leftover file. If your phone’s free space did not increase, check Downloads, Music, or other shared-storage folders and remove only files you recognize. Don’t delete random Android system folders.
If you want to check, open Settings > Storage and look through the categories, or use the Files app to search for folders associated with the old app. You can also check Settings > Apps to confirm the app is no longer installed. Android may offer a “keep app data” option during uninstall, but unless you selected that, the app’s normal data and cache should be gone.
On Android, uninstalling an app normally removes its cache and internal app data automatically, so there usually isn’t anything else you need to clear afterward. Uninstalling Spotify also doesn’t delete your Spotify account. Its offline downloads are generally removed with the app, although files saved separately in shared storage could remain.
So if I removed Spotify after downloading songs for offline use, that storage should normally be freed even though my account still exists?
