Experiencing Major Performance Issues on My Laptop After Recent Updates

I've been having serious performance issues with my Legion Pro 5 16IRX8 laptop, which I've had for about two years. It has a 13th Gen Intel i7-13700HX processor, a 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, and an RTX 4060 GPU. I've mostly used it for gaming and general tasks but noticed a significant performance drop recently. Before last month, everything was running smoothly, but now even basic tasks like opening the start menu or file explorer take ages. Games that used to run perfectly fine now lag even at the lowest settings. I suspect the problems started after several Windows updates in October, but I can't uninstall the latest security update due to an error. I tried resetting my laptop from the cloud, but it failed. It's incredibly frustrating since I spent a lot on this high-end laptop! What could be going on? Are there any solutions I can try?

It sounds like the recent updates might have conflicted with your system. Have you checked if there's a known issue with those updates? Sometimes rolling back an update can help. Just make sure to back up your data before making changes, because messing with system settings can be risky!

Have you tried running some system checks? You can open a Command Prompt as an administrator and type 'sfc /scannow'. It'll check if there are any corrupt system files. If that doesn’t help, you could follow it up with the DISM commands to repair your Windows image - just type 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth' and 'DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth'. When was the last time you updated your Nvidia drivers? Sometimes, performance issues can stem from outdated graphics drivers. Also, have you changed anything regarding your display setup? Even slight changes in resolution or external monitors can affect how the GPU handles tasks.
