I recently got a laptop from my parents who won it in a raffle. However, it's loaded with school wallpapers and software, and I can't seem to reset it. I tried using the Settings option under Recovery to reset this PC, but it didn't work. I also attempted to restart while holding the shift key and reset it that way, but it keeps reverting back to its default state. Does anyone have any ideas on how to truly reset this laptop?

It's possible that the laptop has a custom Enterprise edition installed, which means the recovery options will only revert it to the school setup. You might need to create a bootable USB with a fresh Windows installation. Just get an external drive and download the Windows ISO from Microsoft's site to create the installation media. This could be your best bet!
Have you thought about just installing a fresh copy of Windows instead of trying to reset it? That might solve your problem. You can find guides on how to do that. If that doesn't work, you might want to reach out to the school and ask them to release the laptop from their management system.

I’m actually thinking of upgrading to an SSD. Do you think that will help with the issue?
