Help! I Noticed a Spark at the Back of My PC, What Should I Do?

I was gaming on my PC when it suddenly shut down. I figured it might have overheated, so idiotically I turned the power supply unit (PSU) off and on again. Then, I saw a white spark and heard a bang from the back of the computer. I unplugged everything and haven't tried to turn it on since. My guess is that I might have broken the PSU, but I'm worried if other parts could be damaged too. What do I do now?

It really depends on how well your PSU was protected. I recommend checking against a PSU tier list online to see how it’s rated. If it’s on the lower end, you might have some issues with other parts, unfortunately.

Yes, it's a real concern that something else could have been damaged. It’s hard to know for sure until you check everything out. Just be careful when you start testing things again!

It's definitely possible that other components might have been affected, especially if your PSU wasn't great. What model are you using?
