Help! My Brother Deleted Important iCloud Emails from My Mum’s Account

My brother accidentally deleted my mum's important emails from her iCloud account while they were both using the same account through family sharing. He removed them from the trash too, so we can't find them anywhere. We noticed that when my mum searches for certain emails, they still show up, but they're not visible in her inbox. Does anyone know where these emails might be stored or how we can recover them? We checked the Apple support website, but couldn't find any solutions, and contacting Apple support isn't an option until 8 AM.

Family sharing is great, but sharing the same iCloud account is a recipe for disaster! I've seen this happen before. If the emails are gone from the trash, you probably won't get them back unless you can convince Apple to help. It's worth trying to see if her device was backed up recently. If so, you might be able to restore from that backup.

If your mum's emails still show when she searches but aren't in her inbox, that could mean they're in a different folder or maybe in the trash. She should check all folders, especially the 'Trash' and 'Archive' folders. If they are there, she needs to recover them ASAP because they might get permanently deleted after a specific period. Also, consider checking her account data through Apple's privacy page. Sometimes older data can be requested and might include what you need.

It sounds like your brother was using the same Apple ID as your mum instead of individual accounts. This is why those emails got deleted across devices. Unfortunately, once emails are permanently deleted from iCloud, Apple usually can't recover them. It's crucial to set up separate Apple accounts for each family member to avoid this issue in the future. Good luck!

I agree with everyone about not using the same account. If she's able to search for the emails, there might still be a chance they’re recoverable from her trash. Just make sure she acts quickly, as emails can disappear after a period.

Another tip is to log into the iCloud email via a web browser. Sometimes the web interface might show things that the mail app doesn't. It’s worth checking the deleted folder there too.
