Hey everyone! A little while back, I cracked my phone screen, and the crack goes all the way through in a curved line. Recently, I've started experiencing these weird ghost touches that only happen in a straight line across the screen from left to right, but not vertically. I can't share a picture right now, but I can describe it better in the comments if needed.
The strange thing is that these ghost touches come and go randomly, and their sensitivity seems to fluctuate without any pattern. Sometimes, when I give my phone a light smack, the ghost touches stop temporarily, but that might just be a coincidence.
I'm planning to replace the screen, but with the holiday season, I'm pretty busy and wondered if there's any way to troubleshoot or reduce the ghost touch issue in the meantime. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like the ghost touches are likely caused by a broken touch sensor on the screen. When you cracked your screen, you may have damaged one of the horizontal conductors, which is causing it to malfunction intermittently. Unfortunately, there's really no way to fix it without a screen replacement. But yes, replacing the screen should definitely solve the ghost touch problem!
I initially thought this was about a ghost haunting your phone or something! But yeah, electronics can feel mystical if you don't know the ins and outs. It’s best to replace the screen as that seems to be the root of the problem. Good luck!
Right? It could easily be mistaken for a paranormal post! But definitely focus on getting that screen fixed.

Got it, thanks for clarifying! So it's definitely a screen issue, not just a software glitch?
