I set up my child's iPad for school with a kids account and configured family sharing with my Apple ID. Unfortunately, I don't own any Apple devices aside from an old iPod classic. Whenever my child tries to install apps for school, it prompts her to request my approval, but I don't receive any notifications or emails about it. Is there a way for me to approve app installations without an Apple device?

I totally get the frustration! If you really need to approve apps immediately, maybe you could borrow an Apple device from someone just to handle the approval. After that, you could go back to the old iPod! It’s a hassle, but it’s the only way for now.
It looks like you'll need to have at least one Apple device, like an iPhone or an updated iPad, to approve app requests. Apple requires this for managing Family Sharing and Screen Time features. You can check if a friend or a family member has one you can use temporarily.
Unfortunately, you can’t log into your kid's iPad with your account to approve the requests. Apple devices are pretty strict about account management, and each iPad is usually limited to one primary Apple ID.
