How Can I Legitimately Get More Control Over My Bark-Managed Phone?

I received a Samsung Galaxy A16 with Bark Technologies' restrictions when I was 12. I'm now 15 and will turn 16 soon, but the controls have become increasingly restrictive over the past few years. Most social media is blocked, and I'm mainly limited to WhatsApp and Spotify. I can currently call or text only six approved contacts, while contacting anyone else requires permission and an explanation. I'm exhausted by how little control I have over my own phone. My brother has temporarily bypassed some settings, but I don't want to break anything or evade safeguards. How does Bark work with a Samsung phone, and what is the proper way to ask for these restrictions to be changed or removed as I get older?

Bark’s controls are usually managed through a parent account or management profile, so the phone itself may not be able to remove them. The legitimate route is to talk with your parents and ask for specific changes, such as adding trusted contacts, allowing certain apps, or setting a review date. If you’re not comfortable or safe discussing it alone, involve another trusted adult.

If your parents won’t change the setup, another option is discussing a separate phone plan or device that you purchase yourself when you’re able to do so. A factory reset or forcing services to stop isn’t a reliable solution. Management settings may return after setup, and a reset can erase your photos, messages, and other data.
