I'm looking for a way to make my old iPhone charging cable appear non-functional as part of a stage prop for a play. The rules are that any tech that works can't go on stage, and I need to make sure it looks like the cable doesn't actually work. My teacher suggested I bring in an old cable, but with the performance tomorrow, I'm in a bit of a panic—any tips would be appreciated!

If you're desperate, cut the cable and then use matching tape to piece it back together. It'll look like it's been through some wear!
If it's a Lightning cable, you could take an xacto knife and carefully chip away some of the connectors at the phone end. Just wear safety glasses while you do it—better safe than sorry!
Nah, just take your time and use caution.
What did your teacher really say about the cable? Like, did they say it has to not work? Seems a bit harsh! Still, I’d say just use your old one without damaging it, and if they check, just play dumb!
He said no tech that works is allowed, and I asked about the cable and he told me I should bring an old one that doesn’t work. I’m not sure if he would test it but I wouldn’t put it past him lol
Honestly, I’d just say the cable isn’t really working unless it’s plugged in. If you're not going to use it for charging, just argue that it’s not functional. And yeah, I'd definitely tell your teacher they’re a bit off for that rule!
Might just do that lol

Is it dangerous to do that?
