How can I recover data from a wiped work PC?

I recently faced a situation where a disgruntled ex-employee wiped our corporate PC. This wasn't a financial disaster, but all the files accumulated over the last eight years are gone, including some really important info we need to recover. We're looking for a fast and effective way to get this data back. If there's software we can subscribe to, I'll definitely consider it. The files were wiped between last Friday and Monday afternoon, so I'm hoping there's still a chance.

You might want to try using a recovery software like Disk Drill; it could help in getting your data back. Also, consider enhancing your data protection measures by ensuring everything is saved on a file server or cloud storage to prevent this from happening again.

If the ex-employee wiped the data intentionally, they could be liable for destruction of company property. It might also be worth discussing legal options if your data recovery efforts donโt go well.

For future situations, be sure to set up a daily backup strategy for your PCs. While there's not much you can do now that the computer's wiped, you can at least take steps to protect your data moving forward. Consider locking down BIOS access with a password as well.

Don't forget to think about your data policies. It's really essential that business-critical data isn't stored locally without backups. Your situation highlights the need for company-wide backup solutions; maybe set something like OneDrive to back up important folders automatically.

If the data is crucial for your business, I highly recommend you donโt try to recover it yourself. Itโs best to consult a professional recovery service, especially since turning on the PC could further damage your chances of retrieving the files.
