How can I recover photos from a broken iPhone that isn’t backed up in iCloud?

I dropped my iPhone, and now it's unusable with just a black screen showing green stripes. I bought a new phone, but when I checked, my photos weren't in iCloud. I thought everything was saved there, but I only had 5GB of space, even though I subscribed for 50GB. Is there a way to recover my old photos without erasing the data on my new phone?

Your best bets might be getting the phone repaired or talking to a data recovery expert. Accessing any data requires unlocking the phone, and if it’s completely unresponsive, those might be the only paths forward.

You could see if you can connect your broken phone to a dock and then use a monitor with a mouse and keyboard to navigate.

Try connecting your old iPhone to a computer. If the device is functional aside from the broken screen, it might appear as a drive. Look for a folder named DCIM where your photos are usually stored.
