I'm trying to reassign the six G keys on my Corsair K55 RGB Pro membrane keyboard so that G1 sends F13, G2 sends F14, and so on through F18. The keyboard and iCUE firmware are fully updated. The default G-key behavior sends ordinary number keys, and I don't want to leave iCUE running in the background just to handle the remapping. The built-in macro-recording feature doesn't seem able to capture F13 and the other extended function keys, and I'm wondering whether there's a practical Linux utility, firmware modification, or another low-level solution. I'm using Arch Linux and would prefer to keep the keyboard rather than replace it with a different device.

You may not need literal F13–F18. Assign each G key a key combination that you’ll never press accidentally, such as Alt+Super+1 through Alt+Super+6, then configure your target application or a small hotkey tool to interpret those combinations as F13–F18 or as the desired actions. This avoids firmware reverse engineering and usually works without adding meaningful input delay.
