I recently updated my device, and after the update, it prompted me to set a passcode. Now, I want to remove it, but that option is grayed out. I haven't set up Apple Pay or anything like that, so I'm wondering what my options are to get rid of the passcode.

It sounds like the passcode is required for security reasons, especially if you're using features like Apple Pay. If you haven't set that up, it's possible that the new update has made the passcode mandatory for device security, especially against theft.

I get why you'd want to remove it, especially for a tablet you mainly use for streaming. However, some devices need that passcode for overall security. If it's grayed out, check your device settings to see if there's an option regarding device security; you might need to disable certain features first.
