I recently switched to Android and got a new number from Verizon. The issue is that my new number used to belong to someone else, and that person is still using their old number with iMessage and FaceTime. So now, when someone tries to message me, the messages go to them instead. How can I unsubscribe from iMessage and FaceTime to ensure I receive regular messages directly?

You can try deregistering your number from iMessage using the link provided by Apple. Just go to selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage and follow the steps. Make sure to do it with your new number, and it should help clear up the issue.
If your new number used to belong to someone else, it might be that they need to deregister their old number. Have you confirmed they are still using it for iMessage? If that’s the case, they should take care of it on their end.
