I'm in a bit of a pickle and hope someone can help! I was trying to update my iPhone to iOS 26.2 using my PC because I ran out of space on my phone for a Wi-Fi update. Before starting the update, the software backed up my phone. However, during the final step, I got an error message saying it couldn't complete the update (Error code: (100).06A6.0064). I tried updating a few more times, but I kept hitting the same wall.
Now, I thought I could just set up my iPhone as a new device and restore from that backup, but it turns out there's not enough space on my phone to do the restore after the update. Luckily, the backup is safe on my PC, but I'm stuck on how to get it onto my phone since space is an issue. I even considered trying to trim down the backup, like deleting some photos, but I've heard that can corrupt the backup. Any advice would be super appreciated!

Hey! First off, can you let us know what model of iPhone you have? It's super important for troubleshooting. Also, make sure you're using a good Lightning or USB-C cable—some cables can be pretty finicky. If you have access to another computer, that could help too. Just a heads-up, modifying the backup files is usually a bad idea; it can mess things up.

I have an iPhone 14. I'm using a lightning to USB-B cable since my USB-C port is acting up. I do have a laptop, but it’s not very reliable unless it’s plugged in.
