How can I stop getting MMS messages from an unknown email?

I've recently been receiving MMS messages from an email address I don't recognize, specifically "[email protected]," which seems suspicious. The SMS app on my Samsung does not allow me to block this number, as the block option is greyed out. I even tried to add it as a contact, but again there's no block option available like there is for regular contacts. I'm concerned that these messages might be malicious, so I didn't download the content. Should I reach out to my service provider to see if they can block these messages on their end? It's more of an annoyance than anything else, but I really want to avoid getting more of these messages. By the way, I made a small edit to correct the email address.

Actually, you can't receive emails as MMS directly, but it sounds like this is just spam using an email as the sender ID. Your best bet is to talk to your carrier to see if they can find a way to block it. Keep avoiding anything that looks shady!

It's good that you didn't click on any links or download the MMS. Since your phone isn't letting you block it directly, contacting your service provider is a great idea. They'll likely have the ability to block these messages from their end and can help protect you from spam like this.

You're right to be cautious! Some providers do have a service where you can receive texts via an email address, but it sounds like this is just spam. It's likely a scam trying to lure you in with a fake payout. Ignoring it and not engaging is the best route. Definitely reach out to your carrier about blocking it.
