How can I uninstall Covenant Eyes from my secondhand computer?

I recently purchased a secondhand computer that seemed to be a great deal until I discovered a strange app called Covenant Eyes installed on it. This software apparently tracks browsing habits, and I need a code to uninstall it. When I reached out to their customer service for help, they said they couldn't provide the code unless I had an account, which means I'd have to contact the previous owner. I'm uncomfortable asking them about it, especially since it's a sensitive issue. I really want to keep the cool old files and retro games on the machine without wiping everything. Does anyone know a way to get rid of this program?

Just remember, if that machine's secondhand, you have to be careful. Backup your files, then nuke the drive and reinstall the OS. You have no idea what might be hiding in there!

If you really want to keep those files, back them up first, then just reinstall Windows. It's important to have a clean slate, especially with programs like Covenant Eyes installed. It's meant for monitoring, so who knows what else could be going on.

I agree with wiping it. It's probably safer than trying to mess around with that app. You can save your files and do a fresh install of Windows. You'll get rid of any unwanted software that might be tracking your activity.

You might also consider using Revo Uninstaller. It can help remove stubborn programs by deleting leftover files and registry entries. But honestly, a fresh install would be the safest route.

Honestly, your best bet might be to wipe the computer entirely and do a clean OS install. This way, you won't have to deal with potential spyware lurking around. Just make sure to back up any important files, especially those retro games you mentioned, before you take that step!
