The Samsung model number is important here: the UN43JU640D is advertised as a 4K UHD television, but 4K is a resolution, not a picture mode or color setting. The HDMI UHD Color option is mainly for enabling enhanced HDMI bandwidth and HDR-compatible signals, so its absence does not automatically mean the panel is only 1080p. Try checking the settings while the Roku input is selected, and look under the TV’s external-input or device-management settings as well as the Picture menu.
First confirm the exact Roku model, since only certain Roku players and sticks support 4K. If it is a 4K model, connect it directly to the TV with a suitable HDMI cable and check the Roku display settings again. The TV will only show 4K when the source and the content are both 4K.
Roku’s setup screen can report 1080p if the HDMI connection, selected input, cable, or TV setting prevents a 4K handshake.
