How do I set a specific app as the default for file types in Windows 11?

Hey there! I'm using Windows 11 on my laptop, and I'm having some trouble with setting my preferred media player, MPC-HC.clsid2, as the default app for certain video files. While it can create associations for video types, I can't seem to set it as the default app like I can with 7-Zip. Does anyone know of a third-party tool that lets you specify which program is the default for specific file types? Or is there perhaps a hidden PowerShell command that could help with this? Thanks!

To change default apps, go to Settings > Apps > Default Apps, and then you can set them based on file type. But I get what you mean about wanting a more targeted way to set them all at once—it's kinda annoying.

Right? It's like Windows wants to make it difficult to set just any app you want.
