How do you show a login-required website on a TV?

I need a TV display to reopen a website that requires a login, including after a power outage. Are there practical options besides leaving a PC signed in, and what should I watch out for?

A managed signage service may be the least hands-on route. Some offer integrations for common services, and some can handle a browser-based login when there is no built-in integration. Check that the specific site and its authentication method are supported before choosing one.

A small computer running a browser in kiosk mode can work fine. Configure it to launch the display page on startup, restrict it to the sites and network access it needs, and test recovery after an actual power cut. A scripted login may break if the site changes its sign-in flow or prompts for multifactor authentication.

For a do-it-yourself setup, a lightweight Linux device with Chromium in kiosk mode is one option. Automating keystrokes can get it through a basic login, but treat the credentials as sensitive. Avoid leaving them in an easily readable script, limit who can access the device, and plan for updates when the site changes.

Before automating a normal user login, ask whether the website offers an approved display, API, or service-account option. That can be more reliable and easier to secure than replaying a password into a browser. If it does not, make sure the account permissions are limited to what the screen actually needs.
