I recently gave my dad my old 2019 MacBook Pro, and when we logged into his Apple Account, all his messages automatically downloaded to this laptop. He prefers to use his iPhone for messages and wants to disable them on the MacBook without losing any messages on his other devices. Is there a way to do this? Thanks for the help!

You can easily turn off messages on the MacBook. Just go to Settings > iCloud > Messages and uncheck "Use on this Mac." This will stop the messages from syncing to that device without deleting them from his iPhone or any other devices.
Nope, it won't delete the messages from his iPhone. It only stops the MacBook from syncing them. He'll still have all his messages intact on the iPhone and any other devices.
Just to clarify, will turning this off delete any messages from his iPhone?
