Is it safe to log into my bank account on public WiFi?

I just realized I logged into a financial website while connected to public WiFi through my iPhone using Face ID. Now I'm worried that my account might be compromised. Is this a risky move, or is there a chance I'm safe?

You're fine! The communication between your device and your bank is typically secure, so no worries there.

Unless you accepted a security certificate while on that WiFi, your connection to the bank is secure. It's really only a concern if you're being targeted by someone with advanced capabilities, which is rare for most users.

SmartCookie99: Yeah, it’s pretty hard to compromise a connection unless someone is actively trying to do it. But you’re probably just fine unless you see weird activity on your account.
