Is it safe to use an adapter for my GPU power connector?

I'm looking to buy an RTX 3070, but I've noticed that most models require two 8-pin power connectors. All I have available are a 6+2 and a 6-pin cable. I found some adapters that could help with this, but I'm concerned about potential issues. Will using an adapter be bad for my system? Could it damage my power supply? Thanks!

I'd advise against using an adapter if you can help it. Depending on your build, it might not be a good match for your power supply. If you have a standard setup, consider getting a new power supply that has the right connectors to avoid any issues.

I actually have a FSP 600W 80+ Bronze power supply with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a B450 Prime Plus motherboard.
