My budget has been reduced, and I'm now planning to pair a Ryzen 5 7500F with an RTX 3050. I originally wanted an RTX 3060 12GB, RTX 4060, or a newer midrange card, but those models don't seem to be available new in my country. I'll mainly play FPS games, Minecraft, and single-player games, and I'd like the system to remain useful for several years. Is the RTX 3050 really a poor choice at around €300, or are there better new alternatives in the €300–€400 range? I'm hesitant to buy used hardware. I recently found an RX 7600 for roughly the same price as the RTX 3050—would that be the better option?

Staying with AM5 makes sense if you want an upgrade path, so changing the CPU and memory platform just to afford a different GPU may not be worthwhile. The Ryzen 5 7500F is a solid pairing for this budget. I’d avoid paying €300–€400 for an RTX 3050, though; look for the RX 7600, RX 6600 if available, Intel’s B580 if it is stocked locally, or another current entry-level card with better price-to-performance.
If you can find a new RTX 3060 12GB or RTX 4060 at a reasonable price, either would be preferable to the RTX 3050. However, those cards are becoming harder to find new, so used RTX 3060, 3060 Ti, or 3070 cards may offer much better value around €200–€250. Just make sure the seller allows testing or returns if you consider that route.
I’m worried about buying a used GPU, and my parents probably wouldn’t be comfortable with second-hand parts, so I’m mainly comparing new options.
The RTX 3050 is usable, but it generally offers weak performance for its price, especially the 8GB version. An RX 6600 or RX 7600 would usually provide better gaming performance if either is available at a similar price. The RX 7600 you found is likely the stronger new-card choice for traditional gaming, although the RTX 3050 has Nvidia features such as DLSS and better ray-tracing support.
I found an RX 7600 for the same price, so I’m leaning toward that instead. I still need to check which models are actually available locally.
The newer Intel card isn’t available here, and the higher-end options cost too much. The RX 7600 appears to fit my budget, so that may be the best practical choice.
