I recently had my Microsoft account hacked and got directed to a chat room where I spoke with someone from Microsoft. They sent me an email from [email protected], but I found it a bit sketchy. The email asked for a lot of personal information, and I'm really unsure whether it's legitimate or not. Can anyone help me figure this out? If you need more details, just ask! Thanks!

When you say you got into a chat room, do you mean through Microsoft's official support system? Or was it just a random chat room where you mentioned your issue? I’d be cautious because some people sometimes create fake support systems.
Definitely check out the MS support page I found. They outline steps to recover a hacked account and also help you identify scams. Better to be safe than sorry!
Hey! That email address looks suspicious. According to Microsoft’s official site, they have specific domains for their communications, and that one doesn't match. You might want to check out this Microsoft support page for more info on spotting scam emails.

I used Microsoft’s form, and it led me to a chat with a worker. Then they elevated it to a more secure discussion, which is how I got that email.
