Has anyone else noticed Windows Update pushing an unusually large number of driver updates lately? I work in IT, so I have almost no time to delay or troubleshoot repeated reboots. My device is currently prompting me to restart nearly every day for additional driver updates. These updates are allowed through Intune, but I'm wondering whether this is a broad Microsoft rollout or something specific to certain hardware vendors.

I generally avoid optional driver updates unless a device has a specific problem. If everything is working normally, installing every newly offered driver can create unnecessary reboots and occasionally introduce new issues.
Are these drivers being downloaded directly through Microsoft Update, or are they coming from a vendor management tool? If they’re coming through Microsoft Update, the volume could be caused by a refreshed hardware-driver catalog or several vendor packages being republished at once.
It may depend heavily on the hardware vendor and model. I haven’t seen an unusual surge on systems from Dell, with only a few Lenovo devices showing driver updates recently.
I’ve noticed something similar—this is already my third reboot in about two days. It may be related to a particular vendor’s update catalog, especially if these systems are HP devices.
That’s possible. The updates are coming through Windows Update with driver updates enabled in Intune, so I’ll compare the affected devices by manufacturer and model.
