Hey everyone! I just got my new iPhone 17 Pro and set it up by transferring data from my old iPhone 14 Pro. Everything seemed to work great initially, but here's the problem: I can send messages without a hitch, but I'm not receiving any texts in return. My wife thought I was ignoring her since she could see my messages, but I never got any of hers. Also, when I try to activate iMessage and FaceTime with my phone number, it only allows me to use my email. I reached out to Verizon, and they told me to log out of my Apple ID, but that didn't help. Has anyone else faced this? Any advice?

It sounds similar to what happened to a friend of mine after their upgrade. Try logging into myVerizon on your new phone to make sure everything is set up right. If you can access your account, consider deleting your eSIM and getting a new one through the app. Just make sure you have two-factor authentication set up or you might lose access. When my friend did this, iMessage was up and running almost immediately after they got a new eSIM!
Thanks for the suggestion! I’ll reach out to my carrier too and see if they can help.
I had the same issue with my new iPhone! It started working fine for a few days, then suddenly I could send but not receive texts. I’ve done everything from hard resets to toggling the message settings on and off. Have you found any solutions yet, or is it still bugging you?
No fix yet. 🙁 Maybe we’ll figure it out together!

Thanks for the tip! I'm traveling right now, but I’ll call Verizon about the eSIM when I get a chance.
