I've been using Steam without any problems for years, but after a game froze and I had to force restart my PC, I'm now facing a serious issue. Every time I try to open Steam, it gets stuck installing an update. This process causes my PC to crash and I end up with a blue screen. Can anyone help me understand what's going on?

It sounds like you might be experiencing some serious blue screen issues due to the update process. You could try checking for dump files in your C:WindowsMinidump folder. These files can give insight into what's causing the crashes. If you find any, zip them up and share them on a file hosting site like catbox.moe or mediafire. Also, consider switching your dump type to Small Memory Dump for more manageable files if you don’t have many. This will help diagnose the problem better!

Is your hard drive low on space? That could be a factor. If you have enough space, I recommend uninstalling Steam entirely and then reinstalling it. It means you'll likely have to redownload all your games, but it's worth trying since that could clear up the issue.

Do you see any specific error codes when your PC blue screens? Knowing the error code can really help pin down the issue you're facing.
