We have a Konica Minolta bizhub C284e in our Operations department that is mainly used to scan large documents and batches of 20–30 color pages directly to email through SMTP. For about two weeks, single-page scans have worked normally, but larger color scans fail with "552 – Server Disk Full."
So far I've power-cycled the copier, verified the recipients and SMTP configuration, tested different scan resolutions and Compact PDF, checked the copier's mailbox capacity, increased Exchange Online message limits to 50 MB, raised the copier account's file-size limit, increased the spooling timeout, formatted the copier's internal drive, and checked Mimecast for blocked messages. Lower-resolution scans succeed, but the documents are too difficult to read.
The main alternatives are setting up scan-to-folder or contacting Konica Minolta support. Scan-to-folder is inconvenient because many users work remotely and do not have VPN access. Has anyone encountered this error on a bizhub C284e, or know whether there is another attachment, scan-job, or device storage setting I should check?

A scan-to-folder workflow may be more reliable than sending large files through SMTP. You could use a shared SharePoint or network folder, give the appropriate staff access, and optionally use an automation rule to email files placed there. That would avoid the copier’s email size and storage limitations, although it may require some adjustment for remote users.
The folder workflow can be set up with subfolders and automated notifications, so different types of scans can be routed to the right recipients.
Since you’ve already checked the mail server, mailbox, filters, and message limits, I’d stop changing Exchange settings and have the manufacturer inspect the device. Ask them specifically to check internal storage health, scan-job temporary space, firmware, and any maximum attachment or job-size settings in the device web console.
Check the copier’s web administration interface for a maximum scan-to-email attachment size. Some models also have an option to split a large scan into multiple files or emails, which can work around limits imposed by the mail system. Since single pages work and larger color jobs fail, the generated attachment size is still worth investigating even after raising the Exchange limits.
The error may be coming from the copier itself rather than Exchange or the mailbox. Large color scans consume substantially more temporary disk space, and a failing internal drive or another hardware component could explain why small jobs still succeed. At this point, contacting Konica Minolta support is reasonable; we’ve seen cases where parts had to be replaced.

I hadn’t considered using SharePoint as the staging location. I may try that if the copier settings don’t reveal anything.
