I'm in a tough spot with my AWS account. I had set up Google Authenticator as my MFA method, but now I can't access it anymore. Every time I try to log in, it requires MFA verification and I'm stuck in a loop because I lost access to the authenticator app. AWS doesn't offer a fallback like SMS for recovery after enabling app-based MFA, so I've hit a dead end. I submitted the MFA reset request, but it's been days with no reply and my resources are still running, so I'm worried about the ongoing charges. As a student using the Free Tier for a school project, I just want to regain access to stop the resources and reset my MFA. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Good luck! I have a different account that's also locked, and I can’t access it due to billing issues. It feels like they don't make it easy to resolve these problems promptly. Hope you get a solution soon!
You can try resetting the MFA through the phone call option. Just make sure you use the "reset MFA" link during the root login process. It should use the phone number associated with your account. Check out AWS's blog for detailed instructions on that!
I'm really sorry to hear you're dealing with this. It seems like AWS support can take a while, so I get your frustration. I would just keep submitting requests and hopefully, they'll get back to you soon. Hang in there!
AWS support tends to be slow, so don’t lose hope! Just keep checking your case status. I’ve heard of those situations getting resolved, but it can take time.
Yeah, AWS support can be a pain to deal with. I had a similar experience and waited days for them to respond. It's really frustrating when they don’t have a quick way to reach out for urgent issues.

Just to clarify, use the link in the root login area and not contact AWS support directly. It'll guide you through the process!
