I have a Samsung NP365E5X from 2013, and I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distro to help it run better. Here are my hardware specs: it's got an AMD E1-1200 APU at 1.40 GHz, integrated AMD Radeon HD graphics, 4 GB of RAM, and an SSD. I know the specs aren't great, but I'm hoping to escape from Windows. I'm mainly using Word and Adobe PageMaker, and right now Windows 7 is painfully slow, to the point where I can't even connect to Wi-Fi or run basic applications without crashing. I really need something that's user-friendly, as my father is a lifelong Windows user and I'm new to Linux—I've only just dual-booted my laptop with Zorin recently. Any recommendations for a distro that will help speed things up and connect to Wi-Fi? I've been thinking about Mint with XFCE, but I'm unsure if it's user-friendly enough. Thanks!

I've had success with AntiX and Q4OS on older laptops. AntiX is solid and lightweight, while Q4OS has a nice look and feel. Since your laptop has a 64-bit processor, you have a lot of options. Both are great choices if you're looking to avoid bloatware and want a faster experience.
