I'm currently assisting a family member with their Samsung phone where they take a lot of notes using the Samsung Notes app. They accidentally uninstalled the app while trying to rearrange their home screen. They thought it was a system app and could simply reinstall it without losing any data. Unfortunately, after reinstalling, all their notes are gone. They didn't have any backup options enabled prior to this incident. We tried syncing their notes from their Samsung account, but that didn't work either. They're trying to avoid restarting the phone, hoping maybe some data is still there. Is there any way to recover those lost notes? Also, do recovery software like Easeus work for notes? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey there! When you reinstall an app like Samsung Notes, it doesn't restore the previous data if it wasn't backed up. Since there was no sync or cloud backup set up, sadly those notes are lost. It's a good practice to set up a Samsung account for future syncing to help prevent this kind of loss. Hang in there!
Unfortunately, once you uninstall the Samsung Notes app, any locally stored data is gone unless you had a backup. It's a bummer, but you can't recover files once they're removed this way. Just remember to enable backups in the future to avoid losing important notes again!
Wow, that’s frustrating to hear! I guess we need to be more careful about backups from now on.

Thanks for the clarification! We’ll definitely take better precautions moving forward.
