I recently ran into a problem where videos I've downloaded are no longer appearing in any folders of my gallery except for the 'Recent' section. I can see their file paths and they should be in my 'Downloads' folder, but I can't access them from the gallery. I've cleared the cache of the Gallery app, and it's updated, but that didn't help. The only unusual thing I noticed was an orange icon in the toolbar at the top of my screen last night that I clicked on, but I can't remember exactly what it was. After further testing, it seems the issue only affects videos downloaded from Twitter through third-party apps or sites, which were showing up fine until yesterday.

Have you checked if you can find your videos using a file explorer app? That might help figure out where they're actually stored. Also, were they set to sync with OneDrive or Google Photos? Sometimes videos can end up there and not show in the gallery directly.
You're not alone! This might be due to the way those third-party apps manage the downloads. Sometimes they save in a different format or location that the gallery can't recognize properly. Have you tried downloading them again or using a different app?
Glad to hear the videos are visible in the file explorer! It sounds like a gallery issue, not the files themselves. If your pictures are okay, it might just be that the gallery is acting glitchy with those specific downloads.
