My partner accidentally dropped his Samsung Galaxy A25 in water, and when he tries to turn it off, the phone keeps powering back on. There's also a glitch with the touchscreen, so we can't access the settings. What options do we have to handle this situation?

If you want to try shutting it down forcefully, hold both the power button and the volume down button at the same time. But it seems like he's already tried this, since it only stays off for a few minutes before powering back on.

Honestly, this might indicate that the phone is pretty much done for. The water damage could be causing shorts, which is bad news. I'd suggest using a hairdryer on a warm setting to help dry it out quickly, but be careful not to overheat it. You might still be able to recover data if it dries out properly!

I think it might be time to say goodbye to that phone. Water damage like this typically doesn't end well.

Try leaving the phone in a warm place for a while to see if it can dry out completely. After that, you might get a better response when trying to turn it on again.

It sounds like there might be water inside the phone that's causing some connections to bridge, leading to the glitches and automatic power-ups. A helpful tip is to place the phone in a sturdy sock with the charging port facing down, then spin the sock gently. This can help shift the moisture away from internal components. Just remember, this won’t dry it out completely, so follow up with other drying methods after trying this! Good luck!
