Our small organization, with roughly 10 Microsoft 365 identities, suddenly lost access to the entire production tenant. Every sign-in attempt returns AADSTS5000224: "The tenant you are trying to access has been deauthenticated and is no longer available."
We have contacted Microsoft Support repeatedly for about ten days. The case was escalated to the data protection team several days ago, but communication and progress have been extremely limited. Has anyone dealt with this error before, or found an effective escalation path to restore access?

In this error, “deauthenticated” does not simply mean that one user’s session expired. Microsoft is indicating that the tenant itself is unavailable for authentication, which is why users across the organization see the same AADSTS5000224 message. Microsoft has to investigate and restore the tenant state; changing local passwords or reinstalling apps generally will not resolve it.
This likely needs to stay with Microsoft’s data protection or tenant-recovery team. Regular support may only be able to forward the case, so ask for the escalation number, current owner, and a concrete update or recovery timeline. Keep documenting every interaction and reference the original case each time.
This is also a good reminder to plan for a complete tenant outage. If your Microsoft 365 backup system contains the data, a last-resort option could be creating a new tenant and restoring into it. Email is the difficult part, since moving domains, DNS records, identities, and mail flow may require the original tenant to release or transfer them.
Having backups means the data may be recoverable, but rebuilding authentication, DNS, and mail delivery would still be a major project. It is worth documenting those steps before an emergency happens.
If your organization has access to a paid support plan, open or upgrade the case through that channel. It may provide a guaranteed response window and better escalation handling, although the initial response can still be a handoff to another department rather than an immediate fix.

The case was reportedly escalated several days ago, but there has been very little communication since then. Standard support responses have mostly just acknowledged another escalation.
