I'm replacing the SSD in my ASUS V16 Skillcorp laptop and have a budget of about €300 in France. I mainly use the computer for video editing and graphic design. My system has an Intel Core i5 processor, an RTX 4050, and 16 GB of RAM.
I'm comparing an Acer Predator GM7000 for roughly €260 with a Samsung 990 EVO Plus at about the same price. The GM7000 includes DRAM, while the 990 EVO Plus does not. Would I notice a meaningful difference in everyday editing and design work by choosing a drive with DRAM, and is it worth prioritizing?

If both drives cost about the same, I’d lean toward the Acer since it offers DRAM and appears to have the stronger specifications. You might not notice a dramatic difference during normal use, but there’s little reason to choose the lower-spec option at the same price.
I’d be cautious about putting the GM7000 in a laptop. Its IG5236 controller reportedly needs adequate cooling, and a laptop may not provide enough airflow or heatsink contact. A laptop-oriented SSD such as the Integral Advantage Pro-1 could be worth considering, although there doesn’t seem to be much independent information available about it.
That’s worth verifying carefully, since the available information about that alternative drive is pretty limited.
