Should I Repair My MacBook Air Through Apple or Best Buy?

My MacBook Air has display problems, including lines running across the screen. I'm trying to get it repaired quickly because I use it for school. The earliest appointment offered was through Best Buy, while Apple had later availability, so I'm unsure whether to prioritize speed or go directly through Apple. Does Best Buy handle these repairs in-house, or would the laptop likely be shipped elsewhere? Update: I visited an Apple Store, was seen within about an hour, and they had the needed screen in stock. The repair was completed the next day.

Apple ended up being the better option here. I went in without waiting for a long appointment, was seen within an hour, and they had the replacement screen available. The laptop was ready the next day.

Iโ€™d go directly to Apple for a MacBook display repair if possible. Best Buy often has to process the repair through Apple and may use shipping, while Apple can sometimes diagnose and complete the repair much faster.

Itโ€™s worth calling the specific Best Buy location first. Many stores donโ€™t repair MacBooks on-site and instead ship them out, which can make the turnaround considerably longer.
