An unfamiliar car-related Bluetooth device appeared in my iPhone’s list, but I don’t recognize the vehicle brand. Is that a security concern, and what should I do?

A name in the Bluetooth list by itself doesn’t mean the device is connected or that anyone has access to your phone. If you don’t recognize the pairing, remove it using the option to forget the device, then check that iOS is up to date.

Thanks, I’ll remove it and check for an update.

Car Bluetooth systems can show up under a manufacturer or infotainment-system name that isn’t familiar. That might explain the label, but it doesn’t establish where the pairing came from. If you never intentionally paired with it, forgetting it is a sensible cleanup step.

Check whether it says connected, or whether it’s just listed as a saved device. Those are different situations. If it’s only saved and you don’t recognize it, forget it. If it reconnects or you notice other unexpected behavior, review your phone’s Bluetooth and account settings and contact Apple Support.
